Who Builds ChiliTalks
ChiliTalks is built and run by Lovely Singh, a software developer. It started as a developer project: building a real-time video chat from scratch with WebRTC, the browser technology that lets two people connect video and audio directly to each other. Once the first random match worked, the project grew into a product that anyone can use.
Why We Built It
When Omegle shut down in 2023, the simple idea it popularized, meeting a random person with one click, did not go away. Many of the alternatives that appeared ask you to sign up, push paid filters, or have no clear rules. We wanted something simpler: free, no account, works in any browser, and built with safety tools from day one.
How ChiliTalks Works
- Peer-to-peer video. Your video and audio travel directly between you and your chat partner using WebRTC, encrypted in transit. We do not record calls.
- Simple matching. Our server pairs people who are online at the same time and relays text messages without saving them.
- No accounts. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
Our Safety Commitments
- Adults only: every user must confirm they are 18 or older before chatting.
- A report button in every chat, including a dedicated “underage user” option.
- Users who are reported by several people are automatically blocked from matching.
- Clear Community Guidelines and practical Safety Tips.
- An honest Privacy Policy that explains exactly what we handle.
